Newk’s founders Dr. Don Newcomb, Debra Bryson and Chris Newcomb came together at the original Newk’s Eatery in Oxford this morning to say thank you to the community that helped the company grown into what it is today.
Some of the first employees and franchisees showed up to the 10-year-anniversary brunch, which took place at 9:30 a.m. and was attended by dozens of supporters who came out to congratulate the founders on their success.
The Newcombs and Bryson each delivered speeches, all illustrating their thankfulness toward the Oxford community and those who have helped them along the way.
“I was once told that I needed to choose Oxford because it was going to become the ‘Center of the Universe.’ So I did. And it is!” –Dr. Don Newcomb
“We worked for a year putting the original Newk’s together with the help of many great people. The most important part has always been the people.” –Debra Bryson
“I wouldn’t be here today without the opportunity given to me by my partners; I just want to pay it forward. Whatever you do, try to make a difference and have a purpose in life.” –Chris Newcomb
The entire team is looking forward to growing Newk’s ever larger in the coming years thanks in large part to the support of its home base right here in Oxford, Mississippi.
